My impact journey

Being a software developer is much more than coding.

My passion for development ignited at the age of 9 when I successfully compiled my first project on Small Basic. However, as I've matured, my perspective has expanded beyond mere coding. I now recognize the need to consider the broader context and contemplate how I can make a meaningful impact on both my community and the world at large.

What I do

I'm a software developer, a coffee enthusiast, and a bit of a design perfectionist. I work across the full stack: responsive, fast web development with React and Next.js; interfaces people actually want to use, from wireframe to shipped product; and full-stack systems, including databases, APIs, and the infrastructure that connects them, built to scale.

Environmental impact

I've made deliberate choices to reduce my environmental footprint, from personal lifestyle changes to selecting platforms that actively offset their carbon emissions.

Ongoing

I have had the privilege of being raised bilingually across various countries and receiving an exceptional education. As I advance in my professional journey, I aspire to offer constructive feedback, valuable guidance and impart knowledge to fellow software developers who may not have had similar opportunities.

Open-source contributions

I believe open-source developers are the unheralded champions of the technology industry. Whenever possible, I support these communities with comprehensive guidance and valuable resources.

Fuelled by coffee

A good cup of coffee is part of how I get through the working day. I keep track of every coffee I make and the beans behind them.

We commissioned Aidan to build a website for our research study about young people's mental health. Aidan is a promising early career web developer who was very enthusiastic about the project itself, and the development and design of the website. His quote was competitive and customer satisfaction is his priority. He was always very responsive to our requests.
